What Does the Purple Mattress Warranty Cover?
Purple Mattress provides a 10-year warranty, safeguarding against defects due to faulty craft or materials. Purple conducts thorough inspections, and if your mattress is found defective, they’ll either repair or replace it.
The 10-year warranty does not include the mattress cover; it is addressed separately.
Your mattress must be clean, undamaged, covered, and have the law tag intact to be eligible for the warranty claim.
Let’s explore the purple mattress warranty, what it covers, and how to claim it.
If the mattress shows signs of damage, abuse, or neglect, Purple or its representatives may choose not to inspect, assess, or remove the mattress.
This decision is made to ensure the safety of those handling the mattress.
In other words, if the mattress is in poor condition due to damage or mistreatment, they might not proceed with assessing it for warranty purposes.
Purple will require proof of consistently using a firm foundation and bed frame since the mattress purchase before this warranty will apply. They would also request photos of your mattress and bed frame via email.
It is essential to choose the appropriate bed foundation for your purple mattress. Purple mattress is incompatible with the box-spring foundation and using one will void your purple mattress warranty.

Purple will not charge extra to repair or replace your mattress. However, the person claiming the warranty must pay transportation (to and from), handling, and inspection costs.
Note that once your mattress is repaired or replaced, the warranty for the repaired mattress runs from the original date of the purchase, not the date of replacement.
Also, Purple is the sole decision-maker regarding whether to repair or replace your mattress.
This 10-year warranty does not include the mattress cover; it comes with a 2-year warranty.
If your purple mattress is in poor condition, it does not qualify for warranty coverage.
The following signs show that your mattress is damaged, abused, and neglected: stains, odors, cuts, burns, tears, signs of jumping on the bed, folds, insect damage, unsanitary conditions, gel, body fluids, blood, and damage from weather and sun exposure.
Your mattress must be clean and undamaged to qualify for the warranty claim.
One of the best and most affordable ways to ensure your mattress’s protection and longevity is by using a Mattress Protector.
I highly recommend investing in a stretchy and breathable mattress protector to protect your mattress. Purple offers this waterproof mattress protector that is a complete game-changer.
Limitations
1. Purple guarantees the quality of the mattress for as long as the written warranty lasts. They do not promise anything beyond that.
2. Purple will not pay any extra costs for the damage you have done to your mattress, cover, foundation, bed frame, pillows, and bedding ( including comforters, sheets, mattress protectors, duvets, and blankets). Purple’s only solution is to repair or replace your mattress.
3. The warranty applies to the mattress only, not to its associated products, such as the mattress cover, pillow, foundation, bed frame, and bedding.
Conditions That Make Purple Mattress Warranty Invalid:
- If the mattress is not used normally in a home by the consumer.
- If the original purchaser sells or donates the mattress.
- If the mattress is used outside of the USA and Canada.
- If a medical patient uses the mattress.
- If the mattress is not used on a firm, flat, non-spring foundation or frame, it must be solid and sturdy enough to support its weight and users continuously from the delivery date to the warranty claim date.
- If the mattress is stored in any orientation, whether long-term or short-term, instead of being used.
- If Purple determines that the mattress has been damaged, abused, or neglected.
- If the law tag on the mattress is removed.
- If the mattress cover is removed during the inspection of your mattress.
- If there are any debts attached to the mattress.
- If the warranty process outlined here and communicated via email during the warranty claim is not followed.
Purple Mattress Sagging Warranty
The purple Mattress provides a 10-year warranty against defects in the craft and material and against defects that could occur in the material during everyday, proper use.
For warranty coverage, you must cover your mattress during use. If the mattress is left uncovered, exposure to UV rays can damage the cushioning material.
If the construction material of your mattress develops a visible indentation of greater than one inch compared to the surrounding areas after fully recovering from the load, it is a defect.
The sagging must be significant enough in width and length ( 2 inches or more) to be considered a body impression. This applies to the mattress only, not the cover material, which is addressed separately.
This is a warranted defect if the mattress’s material cracks, splits, or fails during everyday use following Purple’s care and instructions.
If the mattress dimensions vary more than 2 inches, it is a warranted defect. Anything under 2 inches is considered normal.
The warranty does not cover Firmness changes and comfort preferences.
Purple Mattress Warranty Claim
Purple has made the warranty claim process simple and easier for you. Go to their website and start your warranty claim online. But, before that, you need to conduct a self-assessment on the mattress.
You need a yardstick, ruler, and digital camera to self-assess your mattress.
The mattress should be on a firm foundation, preferably on the floor. Place the yardstick across the mattress to measure the body impression where you feel a large indentation.
Now, using the ruler, measure the depth of the body impression from the surface of the deepest area of the indentation to the edge of the yardstick. Take this measurement in the padding area, not the stitching.
In the same manner, measure the foundation’s body impression. If it is greater than 1 inch, it fulfills the warranty criteria. You need to put these measurements in the warranty claim form, which you will fill out later.
Also, take pictures of the bed frame you are using and upload them to the purple website.
Do not remove the law tag attached to your purple mattress; otherwise, your warranty is void.
Remember that the purple mattress warranty is applied to the original purchaser only.
As you know, Purple has stores only in the USA and Canada. Visit the Purple website or call these numbers to start the warranty claim process.
